Teething

While looking up the symptoms of teething I came across this...

"On average the first tooth comes in during the seventh month, although it can arrive as early as three months, as late as a year, or in rare cases even earlier or later."

That helps a ton. So basically teething could happen anywhere from birth to two years. Thanks web site!

When did your kids start teething?

Both of my girls started teething around 7 months. It's been said that the later they begin teething, the better.

Kate didn't get her first tooth until 11.5 months. A week before her birthday. LATE. I was watching for it the whole time, and had pretty much decided she would be a toothless one year old. Now they're all coming in at once.

We have a friend who's baby got teeth starting at 3 months. Crazy!

Parker got his first tooth at 4 months. And now at 13 months he only has 6 more to go until he has all of them! He currently has 5 teeth coming in at the same time!! Luckily he is a good teether and is only fussy for a day or two before they pop through. I've heard that too about early teethers having bad teeth but I got my first tooth at 4 months too and I have had reallt good teeth so I'm not too sure about that theory.

Hahah, that is really funny, Scoty started around 4-5 months, and then was really consistent from then on out...like one a month or so, his molars all came at the same time, and it was horrible. But that was after 1. I didnt even know he got his first four teeth, just one day I looked in his mouth and they were there. Rylee got her first teeth around 8 months or something, her bottom two, then not until after 1 did she get her top two, and is just now getting the four beside those, she is a late bloomer I guess! Good luck...my kids always liked to chew on their fingers, not chew toys, actually naw on them is more accurate, so that is how i know they are teething. But you can get this little thing that has a handle and a mesh sack thingy...well I would put an ice cube in it, or anything frozen, and it helped. Also, biter biscuits worked good after they had some teeth, they are SOOOO messy, but they loved them...they are made by Gerber I think...little brown stick cookies with bumps for easy holding! anyway...good luck!

Hi this is Angela's friend Andrea! Hope you don't mind that I read your blog once in a while. My little boy just turned 1 3 days ago and does not have one tooth in his little mouth yet. My other kids didn't get teeth until after they were a year old. I love you blog by the way and your little girl is precious! (I am Angela's friend from Idaho Falls and I miss her to pieces.)

Hi Christina! Jane is just beautiful! You look fantastic, too! I love your blog. Lucy sprouted her 1st tooth at the end of her 3rd month. Hope you and Brandt are also doing well! xoxo, Injung
