This Thanksgiving we drove to Brandt's cousin's house in Michigan with his other cousins from Wisconsin and met up with his other cousins from Indiana. Confusing? We had a great time. We cooked and baked and ate a lot.
We went on a hike on Thanksgiving and it was really fun and really cold. Jane was supposed to sleep the whole time but stayed awake and she wasn't even grumpy.
We went on a date night with all the adults to a Japanese place called Shogun. They made the food in front of us and we had a blast. It was delicious and so was the DQ Butterfinger Blizzard afterward.
Brandt's cousin Whitney took us on a tour of downtown Detroit one day. It was really interesting to see how different it is from Chicago. I like it better. It's more accessible... Detroit that is. We went to a HUGE bookstore. It had 3 or 4 floors. When everyone was ready to go I had to go find Brandt and when I told him it was time to go you should have seen the look on his face. It was like telling a little kid that they have to leave a toy store. He was so sad.
We had a lot of fun with the family. It was fun to see all the little cousins again and to meet Brandt's cousins Josh and Kristina. We'll see what happens next year but if we get to do it again there will be two more little babies to play with by then!
Everyone before the hike...except Karen who was home slaving away in the kitchen and her little guy Tanner:
