I was at McDonald's today enjoying some food with Jane (yes, I swore my children wouldn't know what McDonald's was) and I over heard an interesting conversation.
W= a young woman who I assume works as a social security counselor who works with peope to make sure they are getting what they need.
M= an old man who lives on social security.
W: So how much do you have each month?
M: About $600
W: So you have that $600 and you have to pull out $150 automatically for ***incoherent*** every month which leaves you with about $450 to live on. What do you spend that money on?
W: Oh. Um, ok. Yes, cigarettes are expensive...
Ha. Can you believe that!? That's the first and only thing he said he spent his money on. Wow.
And what's even funnier is that there was an envelope in our mail when we got back for Brandt from the Social Security Administration. At least we know there might be enough for Brandt to buy cigarettes with.
