Wendy's Golden Birthday

Today is Wendy's golden birthday because she turned 2 on the 2nd of November (for those who don't know what that is). It's also my half birthday but I won't steal her spotlight...

We started off the morning with some birthday waffles:

She has no idea what's about to happen.

Enough shock to take that darn thumb out of her mouth.

Now she's catching on... as we sing "happy birthday".

Blowing out the candle aaannnddd...

One puff! I couldn't believe she did it! Jane still can't do it :)

After breakfast we did some cleaning, gave both girls a bath (where Wendy pooped in the tub for the first time!!!!!!! Grossssss!), went to a baby shower and then had naps.

Then the real party started! This is Wendy showing us how excited she is to be at the Jump Zone!

What goes up...

...must go down.

She LOVED it.

After an hour and a half of jumping, we went to Toys R Us and bought Wendy a baby stroller which she is going to flip over when she sees it tomorrow (she didn't get a chance to see it tonight).

Then we went for her birthday dinner at Red Robbin and boy was she excited about it!

Love these two!

Nom nom nom... except the fact that she didn't actually eat her corn dog and instead filled up on fries and lemonade. Dinner of champions.

Wait, what's this? Wendy Bendy gets a special dessert and a birthday song by a bunch of strange people!

Which she thoroughly enjoyed. By the end of the evening I think she realized something was different than the typical day and felt a little special.

If a big sundae doesn't make you feel special, I don't know what will.

We love this little nugget. I will write about her little self in another post but we are sure glad she is in our family. We wouldn't have wanted to spend our day any different.

Three awesome moments of the day...

1. After her and I climbed up and slid down a tall slide at the Jump Zone, I asked her, "What do you want to do next?" She said, "Dad? Boot?" Because I am her mom and have lived with her for 2 years I understood exactly what she meant. She was saying, "Where's Dad? Where's Jane? I want to see them." She's a sweetie. And for clarification, for some crazy weird reason, she calls Jane, "Boot". I have no idea why except for the fact that she can't say Jane :)

2. This little non-talker learned two new words today! She can say animal (well, it sounds like "amle") and uh oh spaghetti-o (which sounds like "uh oh yo yo yo") but that's HUGE! Yay for Wendy trying new words! Now she can say about 22 words (15 of which only we know what they are...)

3. As we sat down at the booth for dinner, Wendy folded her arms and closed her eyes "telling" us it was time to say a prayer. So, we did, because this little two year old is a better person than we are! Love her!

Happy birthday beautiful buttercup!
