Black History Month Kindergarten Performance

Jane's school had another Kindergarten performance, this time in honor of Black History Month, which meant I got to go see her sing a couple songs before picking her up for the day. Her class usually goes last (there are 7 kindergarten classes) so we spend the first part of the program sneaking waves to each other. This time our friend's, the Murray's, came to watch her sing and it was probably the best surprise to her all year.

My rock star!

She really is such a great singer so this is her element.

Each time she learns a new song from her teacher she practices it at home and is so excited to sing it for me.

Here she is singing, "We Shall Overcome":
(Sorry for the shaky camera in the middle... that was Wendy pulling on my arm)

My princess on the way to the front for an all kindergarten song. She did such a great job!

On the way out they all gathered around for a surprise song:
(The guitarist is her fun teacher, Mr. D.)
